Attendance and Punctuality

The Department for Education expectation is that each pupil’s attendance is at least 96%. If a child’s attendance is below this target, it is extremely damaging to their education and confidence at school. At De Beauvoir Primary School we are committed to improving attendance. Following an attendance total of 95% last year, our target for this year is 97%.

Please ensure that your child is at school every day so that they can make the most of all learning opportunities.  There may, however, be times when your child is too unwell to attend school. To report your child as absent, please call the office on 0207 254 2517, or visit the office in person. If your child is absent for more than one day, please remember to phone the school each morning.

The school day begins at 9:00am and the school gates are opened at 8:45am. Children are recorded as late if they are not in classrooms when registers close at 9:00am. All lateness is recorded and monitored. It is important that your child arrives at school on time so that they have a settled start to the day.
Requesting leave during term time

Leave during term time is only considered in exceptional circumstances. If you do need to remove your child during term-time, it will be necessary to complete a request form which you can collect from the school office.
