Homework
Homework is issued on a Friday to be returned on a Wednesday. Pupils in Key Stage 1 have a homework folder and those in Key Stage 2 have a homework book.
Weekly homework tasks include:
Reading
Children are expected to spend 20 minutes reading each day.
Children and parents/carers and anyone else who reads with the child (e.g. older siblings, grandparents etc.) are encouraged to complete the reading record and may include notes about attitude, enjoyment, difficulties, interests or discussion arising from the text. This record is to ensure children, parents / carers and teachers have somewhere to record their comments to show the development of reading skills during the year. Please ensure your child has their reading book and reading record in their bag every day.
Numeracy
A numeracy sheet linked to the week’s learning or of times tables facts or number bonds, as appropriate.
Literacy
A literacy sheet linked to the week’s learning, spelling, punctuation, grammar or phonics, as appropriate.
