Our vision for music is that every child should be provided with high quality teaching in order to develop their musical skills and their love of music. We recognise the importance of music across the curriculum (for example as an influence for writing or the maths involved in creating a rhythm) as well as music’s physicality and its importance for positive mental health.

At De Beauvoir we use Charanga, which is a complete scheme for teaching the National Curriculum for music. Charanga is a contemporary digital resource which has a wide range of songs and topics.

We hold weekly music assemblies which provide opportunities for the children to rehearse and sing songs in larger (key stage) groups.

We offer peripatetic violin and guitar lessons.
