Ofsted Report

Ofsted Report

Home > About Us  > School Policy > Ofsted Report

Our last Ofsted Inspection was in January 2022. The school was judged as ‘Good with Outstanding Feature’. Read the report below.

OFSTED– It’s Official! We’re Good with Outstanding Features!

This fantastic news follows a two-day Ofsted inspection, which took place 11-12 January. We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised all the excellent work going on at De Beauvoir and particularly the pupils’ “exemplary attitudes” and that they “help, listen and work together with compassion and understanding”.  Whilst Quality of Education, Personal Development, Leadership and Management and Early Years Provision were recognised to be good, Behaviours and Attitudes was rated as outstanding, and we couldn’t be prouder of our pupils and staff. Well done!

The report highlights many key strengths of our school. Some areas that make us very proud include:

The inspectors recognised that “mutual respect is at the heart of the school’s work”.

There are “high expectations for every pupil” and teachers and learning coaches help “children to improve their language and communication” and are “trained to identify any pupils who need additional support”.

The curriculum is well planned and leaders “choose content that interests and motivates pupils” and pupils are “very keen to learn and participate”.

The inspectors commented that staff know pupils very well and that the Ofsted is something to be very proud of – the school has not stood still. They recognised the challenges during the COVID pandemic and thanked staff for their ongoing hard work to ensure pupils get the best education during some very difficult times.

We are extremely proud of everything that we have been able to achieve at De Beauvoir since the last Ofsted (2018) and as always, we look forward to the school continuing on its strong upward trajectory. We pledge to continue to help all our students fulfil their potential and continue to drive forward standards and ensure the best for our pupils every day.
