School Meals at De Beauvoir Primary School
School meals at De Beauvoir Primary School are freshly prepared and include varied choices of food, including a vegetarian option each day. We serve Halal meat. Children have access to a salad bar and fresh fruit during every meal. Children are also welcome to bring a healthy packed lunch, which they can eat in the hall with the other children in their year group when meals are served.
School meals cost £11 per week (£2.30 per day). The school accepts payment by ParentPay and meals must be paid for a week in advance. There is no charge if your child is absent.
If you have any questions about school lunches, or would like some help with the use of ParentPay, please speak to the office team.
Packed lunches
Some children prefer to eat packed lunches. We encourage all families opting for packed lunches to ensure the meals are balanced and healthy. Please note that we are a nut-free school and nothing in your child’s packed lunch should contain nuts of any kind, including chocolate spreads in sandwiches.
We appreciate that it is nice for your child to have a treat in their lunchbox however we ask that you do not pack crisps, chocolate or sweets. We also ask that you do not pack fizzy drinks – we are a water only school. All of the above items have a high sugar content which makes children less able to concentrate in the afternoons and can affect their ability to learn.
If you would like to pack a treat every now and again, why not try an oat based biscuit or cake such as flapjack as this releases energy more slowly and children do not get a ‘sugar rush’.
