Art & Design Technology

Explore
As part of our school-designed units of study, we focus on specific art skills, art pieces and artists during each term. For Design and Technology, we weave the skills of designing, planning and evaluating into the themes which build from year to year.

Computing

Explore
The computing curriculum is covered through cross curricular work as well as discrete computing lessons. Clear progression within planning develops pupils' skills and understanding when learning about programming, computational thinking, creativity, computer networks, communication and collaboration, productivity and online safety.

English: Reading & Writing

Explore
For English (speaking and listening, reading and writing), we follow the National Curriculum whilst adopting a unit based approach.

Topic

Explore
We follow our own school designed units of work for our topic curriculum, encompassing art and design, science, geography and history.

Maths

Explore
In Mathematics, the children follow the Singapore maths approach through the Primary Advantage Maths programme (http://www.primaryadvantage.co.uk/about-pa-maths).

Modern Foreign Languages

Explore
Nos encanta el español en De Beauvoir. We love Spanish at De Beauvoir. At De Beauvoir, we recognise how important it is for children to be exposed to different cultures and languages in order to better understand their place within the community, city and world they live in. The learning of a second language enables our children to develop the skills to live and work in a multi-cultural city and become global citizens.

Music

Explore

Physical Education

Explore
Physical Education (PE) at De Beauvoir happens weekly, with progression in a range of skills and techniques from EYFS to Year 6. We have specialised, trained and experienced sports coaches who teach our children and ensure that they access a range of extra-curricular sporting activities.

Religious Education

Explore
At De Beauvoir, we are respectful and inclusive, and celebrate everyone's beliefs, religions and opinions. Religious Education teaching helps promote pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and prepares all pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences in a multi-faith and multi-cultural world. The lessons also provide opportunities for pupils to explore, learn, share and discuss the beliefs and experiences of others as well as their own experiences.

Science

Explore
At De Beauvoir, we are passionate about developing children’s enquiry skills, scientific knowledge, understanding and interest in the world around them. Children are provided with a range of experiences in Early Years to develop their Understanding of the World, and this early scientific knowledge and understanding is built on in KS1 and KS2 through weekly science lessons.
